Our Our June, 2008 meeting will be Saturday, June 14, 2008 at the Festival Fitness 5 Race in Salina at the Kenwood Shelter House by the Bicentennial Center at 8:00 AM. Ten years ago Galen Rawlins joined our little group, unfortunately we still haven't found those 10 year pins. Things have really changed in 20 years, in 1988 the entry fee for the Boston Marathon was $15.00, now it is $100.00. Round trip airfare was $170.00 now it is al least $500.00 and rising daily. Three nights lodging at the Copley Plaza Hotel went from $375 to $750,00 (and the hotel is 20 years older). DO YOU GO TO CHURCH? A friend was in front of me coming out of church one day, and the preacher was standing at the door as he always is to shake hands. He grabbed my friend by the hand and pulled him aside. The Pastor said to him "You need to join the army of the Lord". My friend replied, "I'm already in the Army of the Lord, Pastor." Pastor questioned, "How come I don't see you except at Christmas and Easter?" He whispered back, " I'm in the Secret Service!" THUNDERSTORM COMPANY One summer evening durring a violent thunderstorm a mother was tucking her small boy into bed. She was about to turn out the light when he asked with a tremor in his voice, "Mommy, will you sleep with me tonight?" The mother smiled and gave him a reassurring hug. "I can't dear," she said. "I have to sleep in Daddy's room." A long silence was broken at last by his shaking little voice: "The big sissy!" BOYS WILL BE BOYS! My father used to play with my brother and me in the yard. Mother would come out and say, "You're tearing up the grass!" "We're not raising grass" Dad would reply, "We're raising boys." >
